This is Argyle Street in Glasgow during the Empire Days of the 1950′s. The buildings were all covered in inches of black soot from the industrial revolution. The only thing that brightened up the streets were the tramcars, but even they were slightly grey. I grew up in Glasgow at that time and can still picture the trams and trolley buses in my mind.
